OLYMPIAD FAMILY (Willem deBruyn, Jan vdPasch, Comb, Verkerk
and Comb Verbree) We start with Willem deBruyn, one of Hollands
best for the last 15 years. We have them down from his best bloodlines
such as, the "Strekweker", "Angel", "Superwoman",
"Victory", "Jose", "LeMond" and
the "113" aka the "Dutch King"
and the "Black Prinses". The "Angel"
was reportedly sold to Japan for $65,000, the "Victory"
and "Jose" were sold for a five zero figure to
Taiwan, but not before we requested Willem to mate these two outstanding
cocks out of this pair, not even Willem deBruyn himself has a son
from this pair, as they produced hens after that first nest. He
offered several times to purchase one of these outstanding pigeons
back from us, however we refuse to part from them.
Our latest trip to Holland, we were able to visit the outstanding
loft of Jan vdPasch, the absolute king of the competition
Wie Heeft Ze Beter, (Who has them Better) the official Champion
competition of the Dutch Pigeon Union. He has done something no
other fancier in the history of this competition has been able to
do, winning the Overall Championship of Holland 4 times in the last
five years 1996, 1998, 1999 and 2000. Only two other fanciers, have
been able to win it more than once, one of them is Willem deBruyn.
We purchased several offspring from his National Ace Pigeons and
Olympiad representatives.
We also own a son and other relations of the 1999 Gold Medal winner
of the All-Round class, at the Olympiad in Blackpool, England, the
"Olympiad Renaldo". This pigeon is owned by the
father and son combination Cees and Bas Verkerk, who have
a family of pigeons, made up from the Jan Ouwerkerk, Klak, Willem
deBruyn, and De Wit Bros. Pigeons. The dam to this cock is the "Olympiad
Evita", who finished 10th in the All-Round class at the
1999 Olympiad. Since we aquired the "Renaldo Jr",
we have selected several more pigeons from this top loft in Holland.
They cross wonderfully with the other Olympiad family pigeons. We
just made a deal to purchase relations to the latest Olympiad Gold
Medal winner in the All-Round class, in South Africa in January
2001. This pigeon is known as the "Orlando" and
was bred and flown by Co Verbree and Son. He was sold for
a large sum of money to Mike Ganus, who renamed him the "Super
Champ". We purchased two youngers from the "Ziko"
who also represented Holland at the 2001 Olympiad and was 2nd
Ace Pigeon of Holland in 2000, at the middle distance. The "Ziko"
is the full brother of the "Orlando" (Super Champ).
We were fortunate to purchase out of the "Ultra 31"
a great racer and breeder, who is the nest brother to the
"Orlando" (Super Champ). Along with these acquisitions,
we also purchased several young birds from other brothers and sisters,
of these two Olympiad representatives. Most pigeons in this "Olympiad
Family" collection, are related and can easily be mated
together. Just imagine a pedigree that has grandparents on both
sides that have represented Holland at the most recent Olympiads,
where only the best pigeons in the world are honored. No other loft
in the USA can make these claims.
